Bhaapa Sorson Mach
Ingredients
180gms Fish fillet
40g Mustard seeds (Soaked overnight)
2nos Green chili
20gms Garlic peeled
5gms Ginger
2nos Lemon
1tsp Turmeric
10ml Mustard oil
10gms Kasundi mustard
1/2tsp Garam masala powder (Optional)
Salt to taste
Banana leaves for wrapping
Method
Marinate the fish fillet with salt and lemon juice (half lemon) Keep it aside.
Grind mustard, green chili, garlic, and ginger into a fine paste.
In a bowl take the paste, add mustard oil, turmeric, salt, kasundi, and lemon juice. Mix well.
Lightly squeeze the fish and gently marinate with the paste mix. Keep it for an hour in a cool place.
Wilt the banana leaves very lightly on a heated tawa/griddle.
Wrap the fish fillets individually in the banana leaves, and tie them (individually) with the banana leaf twig or a thread.
Place it in a preheated steamer and cook it for 20 minutes.
Serve it with lachha pyaz , lemon wedge, and your choice of chutney.
Note:
Ensure the fillet is not over-cooked.
Take any sea fish, I recommend Silver Pomfret, Red Snapper, Seabass, or any fish of your choice.
You can use river fish as well. I recommend that it be served with green chili chutney.
